Clube de Regatas do Flamengo signed a loyalty contract on Wednesday to use the Engenhão as its new home during the closure of the Maracanã for renovations for the 2014 World Cup. The agreement reached with the Botafogo board provides for the use of the stadium until December 2012.
Under the agreement, the red-and-black club will receive a percentage of the revenue from parking and food courts. During matches, the João Havelange Stadium's large screens may be used for advertising.
The marketing department also formalized some properties where Flamengo will be able to carry out promotional activities within the stadium, such as VIP areas, lounges, stores, fan events, among others.
Retrospect - It's worth noting that Flamengo's statistics at Engenhão are entirely favorable to the red-and-black team. Since their debut at the stadium on February 2, 2008, when they thrashed América 4-0, the Red-and-Black team has never lost there. They have played eight matches, winning seven and drawing only one.
