Flamengo landed in Rio de Janeiro this afternoon and returned to training shortly afterward in Gávea. The red-and-black team began preparing for Sunday's match against Santo André in São Paulo, a match valid for the third round of the Brazilian Championship.

The players who started yesterday's match against Inter did only strength training exercises at the club's gym. The rest of the squad participated in a technical activity on a reduced-size field.

Adriano had his first contact with the ball since signing with Flamengo. The Emperor, who had only been working on his physical skills, trained technically with some players from Flamengo's youth team. Adriano practiced finishing, movement, and ball handling.

New attacking addition Arthuro, formerly of Terek Gozny in Russia, has been training physically in the gym and on the field. At 26, the striker signed a three-month contract with the red-and-black club, which can be extended until the end of the year.
