Right after celebrating their sixth Brazilian championship, it's time to plan for 2010. On Monday night, Flamengo will elect a new president, but even before that, the board is already working to maintain the core of the group for next season. One of the biggest goals for next year, without a doubt, is the Copa Libertadores da América. And the red-and-blacks already know who they'll face in the continent's most important competition.

The Gávea team is in Group 8 of the competition, alongside the University of Chile, Caracas, and the winner of Game 3 of the Libertadores Preliminary Round, which will be between an Argentine team and a Chilean team. Four other Brazilian teams are competing in the competition. Corinthians is in Group 1, São Paulo in Group 2, Inter in Group 5, and Cruzeiro is still in the Libertadores Preliminary Round.

"We already have to think about the Libertadores, which is a tough competition, and we have to bring in some players to make up this squad. It's going to be important, it's a different tournament, and we have to strengthen to make up this group well," Andrade analyzed in an interview with RJ TV.
