A night of thrashing at Maracanã! In the fourth round of the Cariocão, Flamengo beat Resende 4-1 on Friday night (19), at Maracanã. The goals of the Most Beloved were scored by Vitinho, Pedro and Rodrigo Muniz (2). With the result, the red-black team sleeps in the lead of the championship.
The game
Flamengo started the first half applying pressure in the attacking half. Eleven minutes in, the Red-Blacks had their first good chance to score. Michael delivered a perfect cross to Pedro, who fired a right-footed shot that the goalkeeper saved well. With extensive possession, the Red-Blacks exchanged passes and worked plays, primarily on the left wing, with Michael.
In the 31st minute, Richard took a shot from outside the box, forcing the goalkeeper to make a good save. Richard then burst into the box from the right and crossed low to Pedro, who got ahead of the goalkeeper and flicked it on. The ball went just wide of the post. In the final minutes, Vitinho passed with his outside of the foot to Pedro, who controlled the ball inside the box and fired a cross. The ball went just wide of the goalkeeper's right post.
Mengão came out swinging in the second half, and just three minutes in, they opened the scoring with a stunning goal! Vitinho received the ball on the right and unleashed a powerful shot into the top corner, leaving Gustavo Fraga with no chance: 1-0. The red-and-black team continued to press Resende and doubled the lead in the eleventh minute. After a scramble in the box, Vitinho's shot hit the crossbar, and the ball fell to Pedro, who headed it into the back of the net: 2-0.
In the 18th minute, Resende pulled one back with a Paulo Victor goal, making it 2-1. Soon after, Pedro made a good play and shot past the defense, but the ball fell to João Gomes, who fired a powerful shot that the goalkeeper saved. In the 28th minute, Mengão scored the third, with a stunning Rodrigo Muniz! Matheuzinho delivered an excellent cross from the right, and the center forward caught it first time, with a rare shot: 3-1.
Flamengo still had time to score a fourth, again through Muniz! Lázaro fired a low shot that the goalkeeper saved. On the rebound, Michael prevented the ball from going out and passed it to Rodrigo Muniz to make it 4-1. Dominating the match throughout, Mais Querido imposed its rhythm and left the field with all three points.
