Flamengo launched on Wednesday (21), at Maracanã, during the game against Internacional for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Conmebol Libertadores, the “Manto Express”. Just like a soft drink machine or snacks, the fan has his official Mengão adidas shirt just a few buttons away. As of this Friday (30), this machine is fixed at the Jardim Oceânico station of the Rio Metro.
"The machine was developed with cutting-edge technology, featuring an LED display for product selection and an app for retailers to monitor inventory. Initially, they will be available to franchisees, focusing on smaller cities and convenience stores, such as airports," explains Gustavo Figueiredo, the club's Licensing Manager.
The focus is to use the machines in airports, subway stations, supermarkets, and shopping malls. This will be modeled after the licensing project for the club's official physical stores—which currently total 63 units, with five more scheduled to open by September.
To begin, 36 licensed Flamengo retailers will have priority in installing Manto Express machines, with the project later opening to the general market. Initially, only official retailers will be able to install the machines, and the machine will incur an initial licensing fee for the club and monthly royalties.
On the first day of operation, 25% of the shirts displayed in a single machine in the corridor of the west sector of Maracanã boxes were sold, a great result for such a restricted location.
The machine only accepts payment by debit or credit card; with the latter, the amount can be paid in up to five installments. The adidas 1, 2 and 3 game models are sold in all sizes, men's,
women's and children's, packaged in a beautiful, exclusive Manto Express box. And if you try it on and prefer another model or size, no problem: tAll parts can be exchanged in official physical stores.
