Flamengo wins in "red-black duels"
Against Atlético-PR, Vitória and Atlético-GO, the team from Gávea has a good historical record

Against Vitória, Atlético-GO, and Atlético-PR, the Gávea team plays what are known as "red-and-black duels." When they come to Rio, they are the ones forced to change uniforms. This Sunday (November 07.11), in Volta Redonda, it will be Atlético Paranaense's turn to don the white jersey for another match.
And Flamengo's historical record gives them the edge in matches against all these opponents. Against the team from Paraná, the difference is starkest: in 41 matches, Flamengo has 18 wins, eight draws, and 15 losses. Against their namesake from Goiânia, the team from Gávea is undefeated: five wins and one draw in six matches. Facing Vitória, they have 32 wins, 13 draws, and eight losses in 53 matches.
Another traditional Flamengo rival wearing the red and black colors is Sport Recife, which competes in the 2010 Brazilian Championship Series B. Against the Pernambuco team, once again, the Rio de Janeiro team has the upper hand. In 38 matches, they have 18 wins, seven draws, and 13 losses.
This year, Flamengo's record is also favorable. In matches against Vitória, they drew twice (1-1 in Salvador and 2-2 in Rio) and against Atlético-GO, they won twice (1-0 in Goiânia and 2-0 in Volta Redonda). Flamengo's only loss in the 2010 Brasileirão was in Curitiba, against Furacão, this Sunday's opponent, by a 1-0 scoreline. Flamengo and Sport have not faced each other this season.
"At home, we always have to think about winning. Against Atlético-PR, we have to go out and kill the game. They have a good team and will play a tough game here. The way we've been playing, we'll get a win," said Leo Moura.
