In another home match, Flamengo beat Grêmio 3-0 on Sunday night (11), at Maracanã, in the 10th round of the Brasileirão. Everton Cebolinha, making the most of the ex-law, Pedro and Bruno Henrique scored the red-black goals. With the victory, the Mais Querido added 19 points and is in third place in the national competition.
The game
Flamengo started the match trying to apply pressure on Grêmio's attacking play. Just two minutes in, Arrascaeta took a free kick into the box, and Erick rose to head the ball wide. Flamengo was also looking to attack and created a threat.
In the 16th minute, Wesley burst into the box and passed to Gabi, who fired a shot straight at Bruno Uvini. As time wore on, the red-and-black team managed to maintain control of the ball in the attacking half.
Then, in the 23rd minute, the dominant possession resulted in a goal! Wesley stole the ball, burst into the box, and passed it to Cebolinha, who dribbled past Kannemann and slotted it home. The law of the ex never fails! It was the striker's sixth goal with the Sacred Mantle.
Mengão continued to press forward, looking to extend their lead. In the 32nd minute, Arrascaeta delivered a beautiful backheel pass to Wesley, who reached the byline and crossed to Gabi. The number 10 finished right at the goalkeeper. Without any major scares, the Rubro-Negro ended the first half with the lead.
In the second half, the Mais Querido continued to impose their rhythm and control possession. Grêmio, on the other hand, pushed forward more in search of an equalizer. In the 14th minute, Mengão created a great opportunity. Arrascaeta delivered a beautiful pass to Pedro, who fired a low shot into the goalkeeper's corner, but the ball sailed just wide of the post.
In the 19th minute, Rubro-Negro extended their lead at the Maraca to the nation's delight! Grêmio's midfielder misplaced a pass, and the ball fell to Pedro, who came on in the second half, who fired a low shot into the corner: 2-0.
Undeterred by the intensity, Flamengo kept pushing for more. In the 27th minute, Bruno Henrique, who had just come on for Cebolinha, took a shot from outside the box, and the ball went over the goal. In stoppage time, Flamengo nearly scored a third. Gerson found Bruno Henrique alone, cutting in diagonally from the right. The number 27 attempted a well-placed shot, but the ball went wide.
But in the 50th minute, there was no way around it; Bruno Henrique's ball finally went in! Victor Hugo found Gerson on the left, and he crossed perfectly for the striker to head home, sealing the red-and-black victory at the Maracanã. It's worth noting that the number 27 scored again in 428 days.
