Flamengo's adult team secured a place in the final of the State Championship in the category after defeating the Teresópolis team, in the second game of the semifinals, by 4 to 3.
After a 1-1 draw in Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo went up the mountain needing a win to qualify for the next round. And they got it, with standout performances from goalkeeper Rafael Pasos and winger Arthur Linhares, who scored two goals in the match.
Now, the red-black team awaits the definition of the opponent in the final, which will come from the clash between Petrópolis and Cabo Frio.
The weekend also saw decisive matches for the other futsal categories. The youth teams faced Vasco da Gama, drawing 2-2 in the under-09 and under-13 divisions, and losing 2-0 in the under-11 division. Despite these results, all three categories qualified for the quarterfinals of the competition.
The U-15 and U-17 teams faced Fluminense and lost both matches. The U-15 team lost 8-5, and the U-17 team lost 3-2. Despite the losses, both teams are also through to the quarterfinals.
The youth team faced Vasco da Gama and won the match 7-3. With this result, the red-and-black team remains in second place, qualifying for the final stage of the competition.
