Flamengo faced Botafogo this Wednesday afternoon (11/21), at Gávea field, in a game valid for the semifinal of the OPG Tournament. After winning the first leg away from home by 2-0, the red-black team hosted the black-and-white team and despite losing 1-0 ended up qualifying for the final.

The game was closely contested. In the first half, neither team had many chances, resulting in a 0-0 draw.

The game picked up pace in the second half, and Flamengo wasted a few chances through Bruno Mezenga and Kayke. Botafogo threatened on the counterattack, but goalkeeper Paulo Victor was in inspired form.

After much persistence, Botafogo opened the scoring with striker Junior heading in a cross. The red-and-black team responded with midfielder Diguinho, but the shot went wide of the post.

In the end, the 1-0 result qualified Flamengo for the grand final of the OPG Tournament, and the red-black coach Adílio commented on what he expects from the decision against Fluminense.

- "It will be a great game. Fla-Flu will be a clash between the two best teams. The important thing is to focus on the decision and work to put in a great performance in the final."

The first game of the decision will be on Saturday (11/24), at 15 pm in Gávea.
