Flamengo lost the friendly to Vila Nova on Saturday night (21), at the Serra Dourada stadium, in Goiás. The match was part of the team's preparation for the 2017 season.
In the first half, the team started with Muralha, Pará, Réver, Vaz, Jorge; Arão, Márcio Araújo, Mancuello, Diego, and Éverton; and Guerrero. Vila Nova created chances, including headers from Guerrero and Arão in the 14th, 18th, and 32nd minutes. In the 38th minute, Jorge took a long-range shot that sailed just wide of the post, but Wallyson fired a powerful shot from distance to open the scoring for Vila Nova.
The Mais Querido returned completely modified for the second half, with Thiago; Rodinei, Juan, Rafael, and Trauco; Cuéllar, Ronaldo, and Gabriel; Adryan, Cirino, and Damião, who scored Flamengo's goal in the 22nd minute. Adryan delivered a precise through ball, and the center forward only had to tap the ball past the goalkeeper. But Vila Nova responded quickly, again with Wallyson in the 33rd minute. Shortly after, young Cafu also entered the field in place of Ronaldo, but the score remained unchanged: 2-1 for the team from Goiás.
The team is off this Sunday (22) and next week the pre-season continues at the George Helal Training Center.
