At an altitude of over 3.600m in La Paz, Flamengo ended up being defeated by Bolívar, 2-1, on Wednesday night (24), at the Hernando Siles stadium, in a match of the third round of Group E of the Libertadores. Viña scored the only goal for the red-black team. The result breaks the unbeaten streak of 22 matches for the Red-Black team this season. It is worth mentioning that the Mais Querido played with a very modified team.

The game
The match began with Bolívar on the attack, and in the first minute, they opened the scoring with Brazilian Chico, who headed the ball into the net, leaving Rossi with no chance: 1-0. At a disadvantage, Mengão responded quickly and leveled the score in the fourth minute with Viña, who entered the area from the left, dribbled past the marker and beat the goalkeeper to score a beautiful goal: 1-1.

Accustomed to the altitude, the Bolivians controlled possession and exchanged passes in the attacking half. Flamengo, on the other hand, remained more defensive and sought to counterattack. In the 30th minute, Viña took a chance from outside the box, and the ball sailed over the goal.

Eight minutes later, the red-and-black team created another good opportunity. Viña exchanged passes with Victor Hugo and crossed for Bruno Henrique, who failed to head the ball home. The first half ended with the score tied. Bolívar dominated the action, while the red-and-black team struggled to adapt to the altitude of over 3.600 meters.

For the second half, Bolívar returned with Luiz Araújo replacing Victor Hugo. As in the first half, Bolívar continued to control possession, exchanging passes in attack. In the 16th minute, after a counterattack, the home team scored the second goal through Bruno Sávio, making it 2-1.

After the goal, coach Tite made two more changes to the team, bringing in Lorran and Matheus Gonçalves, who gave the team a boost. In the closing stages, Flamengo pushed forward in search of an equalizer but ended up suffering their first defeat of the season.
