On Tuesday afternoon (7), Flamengo lost to AL-Hilal, 3-2, in Morocco. The match, held at the IBN Batouta Stadium, in Tangier, was marked by a fierce team, which was at a disadvantage for most of the match, but fought honorably until the final whistle. Pedro scored the red-black goals.

With the result, Mais Querido returns to the field on Saturday, at 12:30 pm, for the dispute for third place, before returning to Brazil to focus its efforts on the continuation of the Campeonato Carioca and the Recopa.

The game

The match began with Flamengo launching an attack and marking the opposing team's ball out. In the 4th minute, AL-Hilal opened the scoring with a penalty kick from Salem Al Dawsari: 0-1.

Following the initial setback, Flamengo tried to recover. Arrascaeta was fouled on the left wing of the attack, the Uruguayan himself took the shot into the box, and Pedro headed it in, the ball going dangerously wide. It was the Mais Querido's first chance of the game.

And it didn't take long for Mengão to equalize. In the 20th minute, Arrascaeta passed to Everton Ribeiro, the midfielder found Gabi, the ball rebounded off the opposing defense and back to Matheuzinho at the edge of the box. The full-back passed to Pedro, and the reverent striker made no mistake – he put it in the back of the net with his first touch. A finish of rare quality, my number nine: 1-1. 

As the first half progressed, the game evened out. Both teams slowed down their initial pace and studied each other more. The match was also marked by numerous fouls, with the referee constantly stopping the match. 

In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo regained control of the match and began to attack dangerously, mainly on the left side, with Arrascaeta and Ayrton Lucas.

In the final kick before halftime, the referee awarded AL-Hilal their second penalty of the match and sent off Gerson, who had already received a yellow card earlier in the game and committed the new offense. Salem Al Dawsari converted the penalty, making it 1-2. 

Down ten men, Flamengo began the second half looking to bounce back. The first change was the introduction of Fabrício Bruno and Erick Pulgar, replacing Léo Pereira and Arrascaeta, respectively.

The red-and-blacks fought bravely, even though they were outnumbered. Gabigol's shot was blocked in the box, and shortly after, Ayrton Lucas made a beautiful run down the left, but the cross went straight into the hands of the opposing goalkeeper.

In the 12th minute, the Saudi team hit the post. The game was tense in Morocco.

Pedro and Gabigol exchanged passes in the middle, passing to Matheuzinho on the right flank. The full-back went to the byline and crossed into the box, but Gabi headed over. A dangerous play.

At 25', AL-Hilal scored the third goal with Vietto: 1-3.

At the end of the match, in the 46th minute, Pedro reduced the score in Tangier: 2-3.
