Flamengo was no match for them. The "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) team was defeated 2-1 this Saturday by Atlético-MG at the Independência Stadium. Bruno Henrique scored the only goal for Flamengo in the first half of the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship.

First time

Mengão dominated the first half. They created the main chances but were caught out in the 27th minute. Cazares scored for Atlético. The red-and-blacks responded quickly, and in the 30th minute, Bruno Henrique equalized with a beautiful goal. If it weren't for goalkeeper Victor's excellent saves, the Mais Querido could have gone into halftime with a lead. 

Second time

In the second half, Flamengo was again surprised. Early in the half, Chará scored for the home team. The goal didn't deter Flamengo, who continued to dominate the game. This time, however, the goal fell short. It was the Mais Querido's second defeat in the championship.

Flamengo returns to the field next Sunday, at 16 pm, at Maracanã, to face Athletico-PR.
