On Wednesday night (03.06), Flamengo went to Mineirão to face Cruzeiro and lost 1-0. The team played a balanced game at the opponent's home, sought the draw until the end, but ended up conceding a goal from a corner kick in the 30th minute of the second half.

Even away from home, the team had the support of the red-black fans, who turned out in good numbers and sang a lot at the stadium. On Saturday (06.06), Flamengo returns to Maracanã to face Chapecoense, at 18:30 pm, in the sixth round of the Brazilian Championship.

The game
From the very first minutes, Flamengo showed an attacking approach. In the eighth minute, Wallace suffered a cut on his eyebrow after a clash with Leandro Damião, but returned to the match after receiving medical attention. When the match resumed, the team maintained its rhythm, with fast-paced plays from Marcelo Cirino and Éverton. Throughout the first half, the game was open, with both teams pushing for goals, but without posing much threat to the goalkeepers. Until, in the 31st minute, Paulo Victor worked well. The goalkeeper parried a rocket from Henrique. A minute later, the Flamengo goalkeeper appeared again, saving the goal by dispossessing Marquinhos with his hands and then using his feet, saving Damião's shot on the rebound. The teams went into halftime tied 0-0.

For the second half, Cristóvão Borges made the first change to the team, replacing Anderson Pico with Luiz Antônio, who in the 10th minute took a dangerous free kick that went wide of the wall; the ball went into the corner and found the net from the outside. The same fate followed on the counterattack from Willian, who threatened with a shot from outside the box the following minute. In the 22nd minute, Cristóvão took off Cirino, who was replaced by Gabriel. Shortly after, Flamengo made a beautiful move. Márcio Araújo backheeled the ball to Éverton, who crossed for Paulinho to chest down, turn, and hit a cross-shot, but the ball sailed over the crossbar.

In the 30th minute, Cruzeiro opened the scoring. Manoel capitalized on a corner kick and scored with a header. The Red-Blacks responded three minutes later, with a powerful header from Gabriel that forced goalkeeper Fábio to make a great save. In the 38th minute, Cristóvão made his final substitution, sending Eduardo onto the field in place of Márcio Araújo. Flamengo fought for an equalizer until the final seconds, but the match ended 1-0 to their opponents.
