The game
The opening minutes of the match were closely studied. Both teams sought possession and attempted to attack. Cuiabá reached the red-and-black box more frequently, posing a threat to Matheus Cunha's goal.

Flamengo struggled to exchange passes and, consequently, create attacking opportunities. In the final play of the first half, Varela crossed into the box, Ayrton Lucas headed it in, and Pedro finished with a bicycle kick. Gerson tried to reach it, but the ball went out of bounds.
