The game
The match started evenly, with both teams looking for space. Fortaleza had the first big chance of the match, with Robson hitting the post. Flamengo got their first chance after a mistake by Marcelo Boeck; the ball fell to Everton Ribeiro, who struck hard but had his shot deflected by the opposing defense.

Flamengo launched its attack with the help of its full-backs, and Fortaleza took advantage of counterattacks to threaten the Mais Querido. In the 27th minute, Fortaleza opened the scoring with Robson, after a mistake by Flamengo in the clearance: 0-1.
