On Sunday night (19), Flamengo's alternative team faced Nova Iguaçu, in Maranhão, and was defeated 2-1, in the third round of Cariocão. Wallace Yan, who came on during the match, scored the only goal for Rubro-Negro. Now, they return to the field next Wednesday (22) to face the Bangu team, in the 4th round of Taça Guanabara.

The game
The match began with both teams studying each other closely, without taking many risks. Until the 18th minute, Thiaguinho stole the ball from Nova Iguaçu's defense and shot, threatening the opposing goalkeeper. Lorran fired the ball from the rebound, hitting the post.

In the 23rd minute, the number 19 found a pass to Carlinhos, who shot over the goal. Nova Iguaçu opened the scoring in the 33rd minute of the first half.

Flamengo tried to respond right away with Zé Welinton, who took a dangerous free kick, but the goalkeeper saved it. On the rebound, Thiaguinho narrowly missed the ball to equalize. First half: 1-0 to the opponents.

After the break, Flamengo went all out to get the result. Right away, Lorran received a pass from the right, headed it forward, and was right in front of goal, but when he tried to pass, it was a miscue.

On the next play, Guilherme Gomes took a shot, and in the rebound, Wallace Yan, with his first touch of the ball, struck with his left foot and scored a stunning goal to equalize. This was his first professional goal.

In the 14th minute, Carlinhos was fouled just outside the box. Lorran's low shot hit the post. In the 21st minute, Nova Iguaçu scored the second.

Flamengo continued to fight to score another goal until Wallace Yan exchanged passes with Carlinhos and passed to Daniel Sales, who hit a cross shot that went very close to the goal.

The Red-Blacks still had a free kick to take in the final play, but it was saved by the goalkeeper. The match ended 2-1 in favor of Nova Iguaçu.
