Flamengo was defeated by Vitória this Sunday at Ilha do Urubu, 2-0, in the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship. This result means the team has gone three games without a win in the competition and, depending on the results, could drop to seventh place. The team returns to action on Wednesday in the CONMEBOL South American Cup, against Palestino, at 21:45 pm at Ilha do Urubu. 

Flamengo entered the field with several changes. In defense, Rhodolfo returned to partner Rever. In midfield, Marcio Araújo left and Willian Arão replaced him, with Diego and Everton Ribeiro playing as playmakers. Geuvânio started on the right wing, and Felipe Vizeu replaced the injured Guerrero. 

In the first half, the new formation pressured Vitória, who barely made it past the halfway line. Flamengo had several opportunities but lacked the precision to finish. Vitória had only one chance, after an individual error by Willian Arão, and scored late in the first half, with Yago. 

Flamengo returned unchanged for the second half. Things got worse in the 20th minute, when Neilton extended his lead with a penalty. Flamengo felt the impact of the goal and was unable to react, and the score remained the same until the end.
