In the third round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo lost to Athletico-PR 1-0 on Saturday afternoon (23), at Arena da Baixada. With the result, Rubro-Negro remains with five points in the championship.

The game
The match began with both teams closely studying each other. Flamengo took the initiative and dominated the attacking half, exchanging passes to open up space in Athletico's defense. In the 23rd minute, Pedro made a good individual play, freed himself from his marker, and shot. The ball deflected off the defense and went out for a corner.

After a corner, Marinho took a first-time shot and deflected it again past the Paraná defense, going out of bounds. In the 29th minute, Isla brought down Marcelo Cirino inside the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Terans stepped up to take the penalty and scored: 1-0.

Late in the first half, Flamengo attacked with quick passes. Pedro passed to Arrascaeta, who shot, but Bento made a good save. Flamengo went into the break trailing.

Flamengo returned for the second half trying to get out of the game and maintain possession in attack. Despite keeping possession longer, the red-and-black team was unable to be effective in attack. In the 27th minute, Léo Pereira played a one-two with Andreas, entered the box, and crossed. Bento saved Athletico from conceding an equalizer.

In the final minutes, Fla pressured Athletico in their defense to look for the equalizer, but failed.
