In the third round of Cariocão, Flamengo lost to Fluminense 1-0 on Sunday night (14), at Maracanã.

The game
Flamengo started the first half looking to attack and, in the first minute, created a great opportunity. Noga delivered a beautiful pass to Matheuzinho, who crossed for Muniz to head against the goalkeeper's right post. The red-and-black team returned to the attack with Pepê, who set up his right foot and struck a powerful low shot. The ball went dangerously wide of Marcos Felipe's right.

From midway through the first half, Fluminense leveled the score and began alternating possession with Flamengo. But the Flamengo youth team continued to dominate the attacking pitch, seeking to find space in the Tricolor defense to score the first goal. In the 36th minute, Hugo Moura received the ball in midfield and unleashed a powerful shot from long range. The goalkeeper jumped to make the save. Despite Flamengo's overwhelming dominance, the first half ended 0-0.

 In the second half, Flamengo continued to pressure Fluminense in their own half. By adopting a high defense, Flamengo was able to force mistakes from Fluminense, who barely made it past midfield. In the 13th minute, Michael was released and arrived before Marcos Felipe, but wasted time controlling the ball. Even so, the striker shot on goal, but the goalkeeper made the save.

With extensive possession, Flamengo threatened from the wings, especially with Michael, but struggled to finish the plays. In the 37th minute, Fluminense opened the scoring with Igor Julião's shot from outside the box: 1-0. Flamengo fought for an equalizer until the final minute, but left the field defeated.

Mais Querido returns to the field next Friday (19) to face Resende, at 21 pm, at Maracanã, for the fourth round of Carioca.
