Flamengo is ready for the opening of the 2007 Rio de Janeiro Futsal Championship. The red-black team will have América as its first opponent, this Friday (31/8), at 20:30 pm, at the Mangueira Sports Complex.

After a great campaign last year, where they finished third, the Gávea team is confident in their pursuit of the Rio title.

The core of the team that competed in the last championship has been maintained, with a large number of players trained in the youth academy. Talented winger Dudu and goalkeeper Breno Caetano are the standouts of the team led by coach Cid Escalarte.

For the Carioca, Flamengo sought new and great reinforcements such as Gabriel, Sixel, Raphael and Élcio, who make the Flamengo team one of the favorites to win the championship title.
