Flamengo ready to face Americano
Cuca praises the opposing team and says he expects a high-scoring game: "They play forward, always looking to attack. It will be an open match."
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter this morning's recreational training session in Gávea, coach Cuca spoke about his expectations for tomorrow's match against Americano in Campos. The red-and-black coach praised the opposing team and said he expects an open game with plenty of opportunities for both teams.
"Americano has been playing very well and making life difficult for the big teams. They drew with Botafogo and beat Friburguense in the last round. Americano has a good team and could even be fighting for qualification. I believe it will be a very open game, a well-played game, as I like to say. They like to play forward, always looking for the goal. We've been playing that way too, always looking for the goal first. They'll leave space, and we have to take advantage of it. This round is crucial. If everything goes well, qualification may not be 100% guaranteed, but it would depend on a difficult combination to knock us out."
Cuca praised the red-black team's form in the Campeonato Carioca.
"We're growing at an important moment in the competition. We're in the final stretch, and the team has performed well. I'm happy with the progress, and we have everything we need to improve even further."
