\Without counting on Adriano and Kleberson, who are serving the Brazilian national team, the red-black coach trained the starting team with Fierro and Fernando, in midfield, and with Vinícius Pacheco moving up forward for the attack.
\And regardless of the position, the young midfielder wants to be on the field anyway.
"We have more than one player available in every position. That's why it's important to show your worth, regardless of the position. I'm in good form, and it's important to play. If it's in attack, like in the second half of the match against Macaé, that's fine. I was closer to the goal and scored twice," said Pacheco, who was praised by Vagner Love.
"He's already playing in the starting lineup, and that helps. Even playing in the middle, Pacheco always gets up front and gives us options. He's intelligent and quick. This makes his teammate's job up front easier," said the love striker.
Tested in midfield in the second half of Monday's training session, Rodrigo Alvim is looking forward to being on the field against Madureira.
"We have an important match against Madureira this Wednesday. We've started the Rio Cup well, but it's crucial to maintain the same momentum. If I'm chosen to play, I hope to help the club achieve another good result," said Rodrigo Alvim, explaining the recommendations he received from the coach.
"Every modern player needs to play in more than one position. I've played as a defender and a defensive midfielder in Germany. I spoke with Andrade and he decided to try me out there. If necessary, I'll play without any problem. I'm a left-back by trade, but the important thing is to help Flamengo," Alvim concluded.
