Flamengo makes flight attendant's dream come true

The airline employee had already traveled with other clubs, but never with the one he loved.

He's worked as a flight attendant for 23 years. During that time, Jorge Nascimento never had the opportunity to be alongside the players of his beloved club, Flamengo. However, the wait only made the moment happier. He worked on the flight that took the Red-Black team to Caracas, Venezuela, this Tuesday (March 09.03), and was able to fulfill his dream: getting autographs, taking photos, and chatting with today's idols.

Jorge confessed to Flamengo's official website that he's never had this opportunity, but he's flown with other teams. And those meetings were great, he says, but they're incomparable to Tuesday's.

"I've never had this opportunity in all my time working. I've flown with São Paulo, Coritiba, Atlético Mineiro, and even Boca Juniors. They were great experiences, but today surpasses them all. It's wonderful to be able to be a fan, to be alongside the team you and your father have supported since you were kids," said Jorge.

And the commissioner made a point of seeking out a specific idol before asking everyone to sign his club flag. Jorge brought a shirt celebrating midfielder Petkovic's goal in the 2001 State Championship final for the Serbian to sign.

"I've always been a fan of going to Maracanã. I was at that game. I remember it like it was yesterday. Pet adjusted the ball and put it in the top corner in the 43rd minute. It was incredibly emotional. Today I couldn't miss the opportunity to ask for his autograph," said the flight attendant.

And the surprises didn't stop there. While collecting signatures for Flamengo's flight, Jorge received great news. He, who will remain in Venezuela and will be among the flight attendants on Flamengo's return flight, won tickets to watch the game against Caracas this Wednesday (March 10.03th) at 22 p.m. (Brasília time).

"I've never been to a Libertadores game. It will be incredibly emotional, especially since it's a gift from the club. Let's see if this red-and-black heart can handle it. I'm betting on victory," concluded Jorge, eager for the big day to arrive.
