In search of a second victory in the Club World Cup, Flamengo held its final training session this Thursday (19), at Stockton University, in Atlantic City, before the match against Chelsea. The match will be played tomorrow (20), at 15 pm (Brasília time), in Philadelphia, and is valid for the second round of Group D.
Rested from the last training session, Arrascaeta and Luiz Araújo participated normally and should be available for the match. The number 10, who scored the first goal in the 2-0 victory over Espérance, sat out yesterday's training session to work on load control. De La Cruz, on the other hand, worked separately at the beginning of the session and then joined the others. The Uruguayan has a chance of being included in Filipe Luís's squad.
After training, the Red and Black delegation left Atlantic City for Philadelphia. The game against the Blues will be played at Lincoln Financial Field, the same stadium as the opening game. At the match venue, coach Filipe Luís held a press conference to discuss Friday's big game.
"Never give up on conviction. I have a conviction, a very clear idea of what I think about the game. The path I believe we've chosen to take to victory is very clear. And the opponent, depending on their quality, both offensively and defensively, will cause us difficulties and put us on a field where we're also prepared to play. Because we train every phase of the game, always, but we train the same way," revealed the red-and-black coach.
Athletes Alex Sandro and Danilo were also in the stadium's mixed zone meeting the press.
