The match marks Reinaldo Rueda's debut at Ilha do Urubu. For left-back Renê, the game will be a sort of preliminary to Wednesday's final, when the coach will face the nation at Maracanã.
Hi, Rene
"He'll be there to feel the warmth of our fans, and it will be preparation for Wednesday, when the stadium will be packed to support us. We can already understand a bit of his work philosophy, how he likes us to behave on the field. I think it has everything to be good for both him and the fans."
Flamengo x Atlético-GO
The matchup between Flamengo and Atlético Goianiense is largely favorable to the Mais Querido. In 13 matches played, Flamengo has won nine and Atlético Goianiense only once. Flamengo hasn't lost to its opponent since 2011, and since then, they've played six games, with four Rio wins and two draws. In 2017 alone, the teams have faced each other three times, with Flamengo winning two and drawing one.
Juan 300
If he makes it onto the field, defender Juan will complete 300 appearances for Flamengo. His debut was in July 1996, in a friendly against Desportivo Ferroviária of Espírito Santo. And his first goal came against Internacional in the 1997 Copa do Brasil, which sealed the Flamengo's 1-0 victory that night.
