Flamengo receives tribute for its third championship
Governor Sérgio Cabral presented the red-black team with a plaque for the 31st state title in the history of the Clube da Gávea.
By Flamengo Archive - inAt a ceremony at Guanabara Palace, Rio de Janeiro State Governor Sérgio Cabral presented a plaque to captain Bruno for winning the club's third state championship, the 31st in the club's history. Players, coaching staff, and directors attended the event. In return, Bruno presented the Governor with a personalized jersey and a Carioca title sash.
One of the leaders of the current squad, right-back Léo Moura thanked the State for the tribute and joked that the Governor should change teams.
"We appreciate the tribute paid by the state and Governor Sérgio Cabral. But I hope he changes teams, since he's a Vasco fan. We also thank our fans, who helped us win this important title. We hope they can continue to support us in this Brazilian Championship."
