In the last Brasileirão, the Flamengo scored a stunning goal off the field. In partnership with Ecco Ponto (recycling company) and Kioto Ambiental (logistics company), the club collected 18 tons of waste at Maracanã Stadium in 54,4 home matches. Only the derby against Vasco was prevented from collecting the waste due to the truckers' strike.

Of the total waste, 35,5 tons were recyclable: cardboard, disposable cups, plastic, Tetra Pak packaging, colored paper, PET bottles, glass, iron, and aluminum cans. See the campaign's figures:

Recycled materials:

Paper - 10.169,10 kg
Plastic - 21.755,60 kg
Metal - 1.148 kg
Glass - 2.432 kg

Natural Resources Calculator*:

- An area equivalent to 15 "Maracanãs" of forests would be needed to produce the amount of paper that was recycled.
- More than 1,2 million disposable cups were recycled
- 1 million liters of water saved
- 162.274,95 kWh saved, which is equivalent to the average annual consumption of 103 people
- 86.192,34 kg reduction in CO² emissions
- 21.755,6 kg of recycled plastics = 2.901 liters of oil saved
- 1.138,35 kg of recycled metal = 5.692 kg of ore saved

To motivate the collectors involved in the action - which maintained 50 direct and indirect jobs in the recycling production chain - the club also held raffles for official shirts and the Nação Rubro-Negra Program.
