Flamengo will face Fluminense again after three days, but this time the classic is for a place in the Taça Rio final. The match will be this Wednesday (27), at 21:30 pm, again at Maracanã. Last weekend, Mais Querido defeated their rival 3-2, with two goals from Bruno Henrique and one from Gabriel Barbosa.

On the eve of the derby against Fluminense, Diego gave a press conference and assured that the team is ready to fight for a spot in the Taça Rio final.
"These are evenly matched matches. We had a big lead, but we couldn't hold on to the 3-0 lead. We need to be extra careful about that. We expect a tough game, but we know our quality. We're ready and confident to put in a great performance," he emphasized.

Flamengo vs Fluminense
Counting all competitions and friendlies, including games in the Torneio Início (Opening Tournament), Flamengo and Fluminense have faced each other 420 times, with 153 wins for Flamengo, 131 for Fluminense, and 136 draws. Flamengo scored 617 goals against Fluminense's 559.
In terms of goals scored, Flamengo holds another advantage: 327 for and 295 against. Since 2001, there have been 73 Fla-Flus (Flamengo vs. Fluminense matches), with 29 wins for Flamengo, 23 draws, and 21 wins for Fluminense.
Flamengo and Fluminense faced each other in the final of the 2017 Campeonato Carioca. On that occasion, Flamengo came out on top, securing the title after two victories at the Maracanã (1-0 and 2-1).
Almost all of their decisive matches in official games were in the Campeonato Carioca (Rio de Janeiro State Championship). Only in 2009 and 2017 did they face each other in another tournament, the Copa Sudamericana, when the rival eliminated Flamengo in the first round in 2009.
Flamengo got their revenge in 2017, eliminating their opponent in the quarterfinals.
Maracanã is the main venue for the Fla-Flu derby. Since its inauguration in 1950, the stadium has hosted 237 Fla-Flu matches, with 92 wins for Flamengo, 76 for Fluminense, and 69 draws.
