Flamengo renews Arrascaeta's contract until 2028.

Uruguayan midfielder extends contract with the club and will continue wearing the Sacred Mantle for the next few seasons; contract allows for extension until 2029.

Highlight of the Rubro-Negra season, Giorgian De Arrascaeta agreed to renew his contract with the club until December 2028, this Friday (8), at CT George Helal. The new agreement also provides for the automatic extension of the contract.
for another season, subject to the fulfillment of goals established between the parties.
 
Since arriving at Flamengo in January 2019, Arrascaeta has become one of the team's key players. The number 10 has played 348 official matches so far, scoring 95 goals and providing 104 assists. These numbers place him as the foreign player with the most goals in the club's history and among the most outstanding players in Brazilian football in recent years.
 
Throughout this period, 15 titles were won: 2 Conmebol Libertadores (2019 and 2022), 2 Brazilian Championships (2019 and 2020), 2 Copa do Brasil (2022 and 2024), 3 Supercopas do Brasil (2020, 2021 and 2025), 1 Recopa Sul-Americana (2020) and 5 Carioca Championships (2109, 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025).
 
After signing the contract, still in the office of Flamengo's executive director of football, José Boto, Arrascaeta highlighted his satisfaction in continuing at the club.
 
“This is one of the happiest pieces of news in my career. I always wanted to stay at Flamengo and continue writing this story. I am very grateful to the fans, who have always supported me, and I want to continue repaying them on the field. The focus now is on the final stretch of the season, but Flamengo has always been my priority,” he celebrated.
The number 10 also commented on reaching the milestone of being the club's all-time leading foreign goalscorer.

“We are writing a very beautiful story. My thought is always to give my best, so that when the time comes to end my career, I can look back and see everything we have achieved together,” said the Uruguayan.
 
Flamengo's executive director of football, José Boto, highlighted the importance of the renewal within the club's sporting planning.
 
“It’s a great joy for the Nation and for Arrascaeta. It was an important and smooth process, mainly because of his desire to stay. That desire was decisive. Idols are becoming increasingly rare in world football, and Arrascaeta’s renewal means a lot to Flamengo. It’s a perfect match,” the director emphasized.
 
With the new contract for the number 10, Flamengo reinforces its commitment to long-term planning, valuing the athletes who are part of its recent history of achievements, and recognizing Arrascaeta's high level of performance.
