Right-back Guillermo Varela renewed his contract with Flamengo until December 2027. The signing of the new contract took place this Friday (15), at CT George Helal, with the presence of the club's football technical director, José Boto.

Having played for Flamengo since 2022, the number 2 has played 111 matches and scored three goals for the club. A native of Montevideo, Uruguay, Varela is a key member of the squad and is extending his contract, which was previously set to expire at the end of 2025, for two more years.

"I'm very happy to stay here, a little longer wearing this shirt, with this club. It was a smooth negotiation for both parties. They wanted me to stay, and I wanted to stay. So everything was done very smoothly," said Varela.
