The iFood brand, a leading food delivery service in Brazil, will return to the Manto Sagrado jersey on Sunday (25), in the match against Cruzeiro and will continue with the Mais Querido until the end of the season. Flamengo's partnership with the company began in June of this year, with the sponsor's logo printed on the soccer team's uniform for 12 rounds of the Brazilian Championship. The renewal was announced at a press conference on Friday morning (23), at the George Helal Training Center, with the participation of Daniel Orlean, Flamengo's vice president of marketing, Bruno Spindel, the club's marketing director, and Cesar Lima, iFood's commercial and relationship director.
The choice of the red-and-black team is strategic and aligned with iFood's current period of rapid expansion. The platform already operates in over 100 Brazilian cities and saw the partnership as a unique opportunity to partner with a nationally admired and followed team.
"In June, when we launched this first stage of the partnership, it was crucial for the companies to study each other and understand the philosophy of how we could convey our message to an audience passionate about football and food. We took advantage of the Olympics to understand the results and reached the consensus that the best path was to renew. We are in full expansion, operating in six cities, and Flamengo is going through a very interesting period of brand and company restructuring, which aligns with iFood's philosophy," emphasized César Lima.
Daniel Orlean also celebrated the renewal of his sponsorship contract.
"The continuation of the partnership with iFood demonstrates the success of the first initiative in terms of exposure, engagement, and growth for our partner. iFood believes that being present on Flamengo's jersey is important, but that our joint initiatives can go far beyond that. I am certain that together we will carry out new brand activations that will make history in sports marketing," he declared, followed by Spindel, who highlighted what Flamengo can bring to the partner.
"All the feedback iFood received in the first phase of the partnership and everything Flamengo can bring to iFood and its partners. We strive to deliver beyond the brand on the jersey, activating the sponsorship with events, content, and social media engagement. There are 40 million fans across Brazil, and we're sure the Flamengo Nation will make many requests," said the club director.
In addition to its 40 million fans, Flamengo has a membership program with 56 active contributors and is the largest soccer media platform in the country, with nearly 1,2 million valid email addresses, around 16 million social media followers, and 250 FlaTV subscribers. For iFood, national exposure across these media channels will reach an audience not only passionate about Flamengo, or soccer, but also about food, convenience, and innovation.
