In the 35th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo beat América-MG 3-0 this Sunday (26), at Parque do Sábia stadium. Cebolinha, Pedro and Everton Ribeiro, with a backheel, scored the goals in the away win. With 63 points, Mengão took second place in the championship with the same score as the leader Palmeiras.

The game
With the support of the nation, which packed Parque do Sabiá, Flamengo started the match by smothering América in their own half, hoping to score the first goal. Six minutes in, Cebolinha picked up the rebound at the edge of the box and fired a shot into the top corner. The ball sailed just wide of the crossbar.

América-MG, on the other hand, threatened the red-and-black goal when they went on the attack. In the 25th minute, Cebolinha received the ball on the byline, chipped it over Daniel Borges, and shot toward goal, but the defense blocked it.

Then, in the 28th minute, Mengão opened the scoring in Uberlândia. Ayrton Lucas delivered a perfect cross for Cebolinha, who was free in the box, to head the ball into the corner to make it 1-0. With the greater momentum of the game, the Rubro-Negro team went into halftime with the advantage.

Less than a minute into the second half, Flamengo went on the attack and nearly extended their lead. Arrascaeta picked up the rebound at the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful shot, which the goalkeeper saved well.

But the second goal came soon after, much to the delight of the nation! In a great play by Arrascaeta, the Uruguayan passed the ball to Bruno Henrique, who provided a perfect assist for Pedro, who beat the goalkeeper and extended the lead to 2-0.

Around the 20th minute, coach Tite made three changes to the red-and-black team. Ayrton Lucas, Arrascaeta, and Bruno Henrique left the field, making way for Filipe Luís, Everton Ribeiro, and Thiago Maia, respectively.

In the 26th minute, Everton Ribeiro made a great play on the byline and passed the ball to Pedro, who finished. Jori made a great save. The red-and-black team threatened again in the 35th minute. Pedro shot from outside the box, but Jori made the save.

From foot to foot, Mengão extended the lead with a beautiful goal! Cebolinha, from the left, crossed low for Everton Ribeiro to finish with a backheel into the net: 3-0.

In the final minutes, Flamengo controlled the result and emerged from the field with an important victory that gave them second place in the Brazilian Championship. With 63 points, Tite's team is level on points with leaders Palmeiras, trailing only on goal difference.
