Last Sunday (27), Rubro-Negro beat the Minas Gerais team 1-0, at Maracanã, and retook the lead in the Brazilian Championship, with a two-point advantage over the second-placed team. In the post-match press conference, coach Filipe Luís highlighted the importance of set pieces to resolve matches.
"Set pieces are one of the phases of the game, and we give them the importance they deserve because deadlocked games are often unlocked by set pieces. And we believe that the arrival of Rodrigo Caio, along with the entire staff, has greatly influenced this power. The players themselves believe in and are feeling powerful again at set pieces. It's important that they develop a taste for it and see how it always resolves games," said the coach.
When the squad returned, the starters did some regenerative work in the gym and the rest took to the field. This Tuesday (29), the athletes return to training in the afternoon. Before, right-back Emerson Royal will be officially presented at 14:30 pm, followed by a press conference with the player. FlamengoTV will broadcast live from CT George Helal.
Also on Tuesday, Samuel Lino will land in Rio de Janeiro, arriving at 09:35 am. Upon arrival, the athlete will undergo medical examinations and then meet with Football Technical Director José Boto at Ninho do Urubu. Full coverage will be published on the club's social media channels and on Flamengo TV.
