With a goal from Pedro, who came off the bench to score, Mengão defeated Fluminense 1-0 at Maracanã. After the derby, coach Filipe Luís praised the number 9's performance.

"I'm the happiest man in the world when a player like him comes on and scores. Football is wonderful; it gives you these opportunities. I have a motto I live by: there's no one more important than the team. No player, whether present or past, is more important than Flamengo. Today, I liked not only the goal. I liked the way he performed defensively, the way he ran. He's regained that spark. I'm very happy," said the coach.

When the squad returned, the starters did some regenerative work in the gym, while the rest went to the field to carry out an activity led by Filipe Luís. This Tuesday (22), the athletes return to training at the CT, and then travel to São Paulo.

With 30 points, the Rubro-Negro team sits in second place in the Brazilian Championship. If they beat RB Bragantino and Cruzeiro lose their match, Mengão will reclaim the lead with one game remaining.
