It was (another) Sunday of joy for the Red-Black Nation. Playing against Coritiba on their opponents' turf, Flamengo achieved another victory: their ninth in the Brasileirão. Guerrero scored for the third consecutive game, Marcelo Cirino came on well in the second half, and Flamengo, despite remaining in sixth place, reached 30 points—just 3 behind Corinthians, who are provisionally leading*.

In the next round, a six-point game: Flamengo faces Santos, who are in second place with 32 points. 

The first half was extremely close. It was a close contest, but with few chances created by either side. Flamengo had the majority of possession but struggled to break down the solid Coxa-Branco defense. Mancuello took a shot from distance in the 18th minute, but sent the ball over the bar. In the 30th minute, Guerrero attempted a cross from the byline, but Wilson came out of his goal to clear it. Flamengo grew in stamina as halftime approached, and besides creating more chances, they also kept their opponents out. Guerrero and Rafael Vaz managed headers, but they didn't change the score.

In the second half, the Red-Blacks needed seven minutes to turn things around. Mancuello dominated midfield and delivered a beautiful through ball to Guerrero, who carried the ball and fired a powerful shot into the corner to make it 1-0. In the tenth minute, Juan suffered a minor injury and was replaced by Donatti, who made his debut for the Sacred Mantle, showing solidity in defense. Eight minutes later, Marcelo Cirino came on. The number seven also came on well, proving himself as an option on the right. Coritiba launched forward in search of an equalizer, but the Red-Blacks' defense showed solidity and denied the opponent any clear-cut chances. In the 43rd minute, Cuéllar launched a pass, Cirino got behind the defense, controlled it with his chest, and sent it into the back of the net to seal the victory.

*At the time of writing, Palmeiras and Grêmio had not yet entered the field.
