A positive result still doesn't guarantee a victory, but it keeps the team among the top four in this year's competition and allows the team from Gávea to overtake América and take third place in the table.

With 16 points, the Gávea team is fourth in the classification phase table, behind Petrópolis and Cabo Frio, who have 32 and 31 points, respectively, and América, which has 17. This Wednesday's match would be held on Monday, but an accident caused by a landslide on the Rio-Teresópolis road caused the road to be closed and prevented the red-black delegation from traveling to Ginásio Pedrão.
