With three wins, 11 goals scored, and only one conceded, the 2017 season's numbers surpass even those of 2011, when they were undefeated champions. At the end of the first three rounds, the Mais Querido had three wins, seven goals scored, and one conceded.

Between 2007 and 2017, Flamengo began its journey in the state championship with three victories in four opportunities: 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Between 2012 and 2016, all campaigns had one draw and two victories in the first three games.
Previously, the Rubro-Negro's best start to the Rio de Janeiro championship had been in 2008, when they also had three wins and scored eleven goals, but Joel Santana's team conceded two goals to their opponents. The record was broken by Zé Ricardo's men.
