Undefeated Rio de Janeiro champions with only one goal conceded, Flamengo dominated the selection of the championship's best. At the closing ceremony of the State Championship, promoted by Ferj on Monday night (8), in Barra da Tijuca, eight Flamengo players were awarded. Striker Carlinhos, recently signed by Mengão, also appeared among the 11 best.

Voted the star of the Cariocão, Uruguayan De Arrascaeta celebrated the start of the season for the Most Beloved:

"It's incredibly rewarding to be here; it must be difficult to choose just one guy. It's only fair to share with all my teammates. I'm happy to have players from my Uruguayan national team around, so they can experience what this team is all about. They've started the year very well: Nico just arrived, but he's already shown his ability and the quality of a player he is; Varela has evolved a lot, he's very comfortable here, I believe he can still improve a lot more; and Matias (Viña) hasn't been around much, but he's a guy who will also raise the level of the team."

Another award-winning Flamengo player, striker Pedro also won two trophies: best striker and top scorer of the competition, with 11 goals. He celebrated his first title as a father:

"It's gratifying for my wife and me. The first thing we talked about was this: our daughters' first title. It's already been a great year for us, with this news and now winning the Carioca. I hope even bigger things happen this year."
