Flamengo trains two formations to face Fluminense

Without some important players from the team that had been starting, Flamengo coach Rogério Lourenço tested two different formations in training this Tuesday (25.05), the last before the match against Fluminense, this Wednesday (26.05), at 19:30 pm, at Maracanã. Willians, with a fracture in his right hand, and Michael, feeling pain in the back of his right knee, were the last-minute absences.
Neither the defensive midfielder, with his hand in a cast, nor the midfielder participated in Tuesday's training session. Therefore, Rogério initially fielded Rômulo, Toró, Fernando, and Ramon in midfield. However, he changed the lineup in the final part of the training session, bringing in Camacho for Ramon and Wellinton for Rômulo.
"We've had some injury problems with Willians and Michael. That's why I tested two formations for Flamengo and Fluminense, but I haven't decided who will play yet. We're still waiting for a decision on Michael's situation, but we're prepared for anything. We'll work with the players we have," said the coach, explaining the reason for the two formations.
"Nobody at Flamengo has a preference. I tested two options, and everyone has an equal chance of playing. The formation with Ramon is one that gives the midfield more rhythm, and with Camacho, more mobility. As for Rômulo, he can play as a third defender, but he also plays further forward. This means we can change the team without changing the players. With Welliton, it's more traditional, since he's a defender by trade."
Pet and Adriano
Petkovic remains out of the team and was at Gávea this Tuesday doing physical work to recover from a right thigh injury. Adriano has been released, as he is negotiating whether to stay or leave Flamengo. Regarding the latter, Rogério explained that he has not yet received any official notice, as the club has not yet taken an official position.
"We have to understand Adriano's situation. No one has officially informed me of his departure, but if he's negotiating whether he stays or leaves, we have to understand. If he wants to play Saturday's match, it would be great to have him. He's a special player," the coach concluded.
