The Flamengo-Flu victory is now a thing of the past. Ahead of the next Brazilian Championship match, Wednesday against Vitória in Salvador, the Flamengo squad returned to training this Monday morning in Gávea.

The players who started yesterday's derby worked out at the club's gym, aiming for a quick recovery to face the Bahia team. The only starter who participated in ball training was Denis Marques. The number 9 trained with the rest of the squad on technical matters.

After training, Denis Marques said he hopes to improve his performance in upcoming Brazilian Championship matches against Vitória and São Paulo. The striker is expected to be fielded in Adriano's position, who will be on the Brazilian national team.

"There will be two games without Adriano, and I might have the chance to play where I feel best. When I had that chance, I scored two goals. I'll keep working hard and trying to help as best I can. I'm playing in a position that's not my cup of tea, sacrificing myself for the team. It's difficult for me. The fans' reaction, of course, didn't make me happy; it couldn't be any different. But I'm taking everything in stride. When I play well, I'll be applauded; if I don't, they'll boo me. That's normal in football."
