By Matheus Oliveira* - inOn Tuesday (23), the red-black squad carried out the last training session in Rio de Janeiro before traveling to Florianópolis, where the Mais Querido's debut match in the Copa Sul-Americana will take place, against Figueirense. Coach Zé Ricardo led tactical training with a view to this clash, in addition to working on set pieces.
The group began the day with physical activity at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA). They then headed to Field 2 to warm up. The workout consisted of passing and movement exercises, interspersed with breaks for stretching, and concluded with muscle activation exercises.

Next, on Field 1, tactical training began, focusing on the Santa Catarina team's playing style. The red-and-black manager explained the opponent's strengths and weaknesses to the players, showing them the best ways to build offensive plays and how to work the ball in the attacking half, starting with the defense.
Finally, it was time for set-piece practice. Direct free kicks were the main focus during the final session, but there was also practice on corner kicks and penalties.
Flamengo travels to Florianópolis today, where they will face Figueirense in the opening match of the Mais Querido's Copa Sudamericana campaign. The match will be played at Orlando Scarpelli Stadium and will kick off at 21:45 p.m.
