Flamengo's squad returned to training on Monday afternoon at Gávea Stadium. The red-and-black team began preparing for its next Brazilian Championship match, Wednesday against Barueri at Maracanã. Tenth in the standings with 16 points, Flamengo needs a good result to close in on the competition leaders.

The players who started yesterday's match against Botafogo only did strength training in the gym. Zé Roberto, with a strained left thigh, did not train and has been ruled out by the medical department for the games against Barueri and Santos. Juan and Toró are also ruled out for Wednesday's match, as are Welinton, Fabrício, and Everton, who are suspended.

The rest of the squad worked on the technical aspects with assistant coach Cuquinha. The players were divided into two teams, which faced each other on a reduced field.

After training, midfielder Willians, who returns to the team after serving a suspension, stated that Flamengo will be strong to face Barueri, despite the large number of absences.

"We have a squad with plenty of options. Whoever comes in will want to prove themselves. I'm sure Flamengo can put on a strong performance on Wednesday and get another win, which will be crucial for us to reach the top four again."
