Flamengo's youth team said goodbye to the São Paulo Junior Football Cup with a 2-0 defeat to Internacional on Thursday afternoon (17/01). The match was at the Antônio Soares de Oliveira Stadium in Guarulhos and was worth a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Flamengo came out of it, losing focus, conceding two goals in less than ten minutes. Inter's Éderson capitalized on a defensive error to open the scoring four minutes into the match.

Three minutes later, Sandro extended the lead for the Rio Grande do Sul team, heading in a cross from Tales. In the 22nd minute, Flamengo had their first clear chance to score, with striker Paulo Sérgio. The striker shook off his marker before unleashing a dangerous shot toward the Colorado goal.

Seven minutes later, the same Paulo Sérgio forced Inter's goalkeeper, Agenor, to make a great save, with another shot, this time from outside the area.

At the end of the first half, Flamengo's situation became even more complicated, as supporter Erick Flores was sent off the field.

In the second half, Internacional closed up on defense, making things difficult for the red-and-black attack. The Gaucho team was very dangerous on the counterattack.

Inter played the ball and waited for the referee's whistle to guarantee one of the places in the next phase of the São Paulo Cup.
