Flamengo's campaign in the first phase of the 2017 Guanabara Cup was overwhelming. With five wins in five games, the "Mais Querido" (the most beloved team) scored 17 goals and has the best goal difference in the competition. And their positive numbers surpass those shown in the table.

Rubro-Negro, who in just three games had six players complete more than one hundred passes, reached the mark of two thousand successful passes in the five matches of the first phase.

According to Footstats, in the five victories, the players completed 2031 passes to their teammates, with an average of 406,2 successes per game. In the competition, Flamengo beat Boavista (398 successes), Macaé (452), Nova Iguaçu (440), Botafogo (338) and Madureira (402).

The numbers are even more impressive when you factor in Flamengo's two matches in the Primeira Liga Cup. Flamengo completed 762 passes in just two matches in the competition, ranking third in the category. With very different lineups between the two matches, the numbers are fairly balanced: Rodinei leads with 59 passes, but more than 10 players completed more than 40 passes (Rodinei, Cuéllar, Willian Arão, Rafael Vaz, Juan, Rômulo, Renê, Pará, Trauco, and Réver).

Check out the ten Flamengo players with the most successful passes in the 2017 Carioca Championship:
