With 23 points, the "Mais Querido" is sixth in the standings, but tied with the fourth-place team—last in the Libertadores qualifying zone.
Retrospect

The only match took place on July 31, 2005, in the Brasileirão, with Flamengo winning 2-0, with goals from Leo Moura and Jean. In the 1992 Copa Rio, with alternative teams, Flamengo won by the same score at Luso Brasileiro.

Botafogo and Flamengo have already faced off in a Brazilian Championship final—and Flamengo has won five times. It was in 1992, when Flamengo, led by Júnior, won the first match 3-0, with goals from Maestro and Nélio Gaúcho.
