Flamengo started imposing its rhythm from the first minute of the match. Marcelo Cirino crossed a dangerous ball, but goalkeeper Danilo parried it away. In the following two plays, Eduardo participated in creating chances, but neither opened the scoring. Chapecoense barely threatened Flamengo's goal, and only in the 20th minute did Bruno Silva shoot, but Paulo Victor calmly saved. The fans in the stadium tried to push the team to the goal.
