Flamengo wins the first in the 2010 Brasileirão

Flamengo proved that it has recovered from the Libertadores hangover and achieved its first victory in the 2010 Brazilian Championship, this Sunday (23.05), by 3 to 1, against Grêmio Prudente (SP), at Maracanã. Vagner Love, twice, and Juan scored the red-black goals, which broke a taboo: Fla had never beaten the São Paulo team.
Scorer of Flamengo's second goal, Juan praised his main characteristic: never stopping trying plays for Flamengo.
"My characteristics, my personality are this. I'm not afraid of making mistakes. I've been applauded and booed, but I never stopped trying," said Juan, who explained the goal.
"It was unintentional, yes, but the goal was important. The goalkeeper went for the eye and the ball ended up going in."
The first half was marked by an attacking Flamengo, who pressured Grêmio Prudente throughout. From the 14th minute, when Camacho, who had come on and increased the team's mobility, had the first real scoring chance, until the 46th minute, when Vagner Love scored from the penalty spot, Flamengo had a total of eight attempts on goal.
Flamengo's best chances in the first half came down the left, with full-back Juan. Camacho also excelled in distributing plays and was the one who conceded the penalty in the 45th minute. After Léo Moura sent a throw-in to Vagner Love, the "Artilheiro do Amor" spotted Camacho and passed the ball. The young midfielder controlled the ball, flicked it toward the center of the box, and was brought down.
Vagner Love held the ball, set off confidently and scored: 1-0, crowning the good performance of the red-black team.
In the second half, Grêmio Prudente came back more focused and equalized just three minutes in. After receiving a beautiful through ball, Wanderley slotted it past Bruno to equalize.
And since the result didn't matter, Flamengo launched an attack. A minute later, Vagner Love made a good run down the left and crossed. Léo Moura shot hard, and Michael finished, but goalkeeper Marcio saved.
Trying to give the team more energy, Rogério Lourenço made three changes. He brought on Vinícius Pacheco, Diego Maurício, and Fernando, replacing Michael, Bruno Mezenga, and Camacho, respectively. The changes paid off, with Flamengo creating good chances and scoring both winning goals in the 41st and 43rd minutes.
