Flamengo's U-17 boys secured another victory in the Generation Adidas Cup, putting them well on track for the semifinals. After a 5-0 opening win over Portland, Phelipe Leal's team defeated Independiente Del Valle 2-1 this Sunday, putting them in a strong position in Group B. With six points, the team needs just a draw against Atlanta United on Monday to advance.
Flamengo scored both goals in the first half. In complete control, Flamengo opened the scoring in the sixth minute. João Gabriel made a great run down the right and found Rhyan free to open the scoring. Flamengo continued to dominate and pressed for a second. The goal came in the 32nd minute, from a corner kick by João Gabriel, who struck directly past the goalkeeper, making it an Olympic goal.
