On Tuesday morning, Flamengo defeated Americano-RJ 4-1 in a match played on Field 1 of the George Helal Training Center in Vargem Grande. Leandro Damião scored twice, and in the final play of the first half, Diego scored the third goal for Flamengo. Felipe Vizeu sealed the score at the end of the second half, giving the match its final score.

The match did not feature the players who started the match against Sport, last Saturday (13), at Arena de Pernambuco. These athletes performed physical work at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA) and then went to Field 2 for ball work. In the final stages of injury recovery, left-back Jorge and captain Juan also participated in the activity on the pitch.

The match started intensely, with Americano scoring the first goal of the match 10 minutes into the first half. Flamengo settled into midfield positioning and began to dominate the match from then on. One of the club's new arrivals, center forward Leandro Damião, equalized after a cross from Rafael Dumas, who played on the left wing during the match.

Immediately after, taking advantage of a perfect free kick from Alan Patrick, Damião controlled the ball with skill and, with a turn typical of someone who knows how to work the box, finished with precision to score the second goal for the red-and-blacks. Diego rounded off the first half with a powerful left-footed shot. The ball deflected off the defense, deceiving the goalkeeper and ending up in the back of the net.

For the second half of the match, coach Zé Ricardo made several changes to his lineup, giving the young players some playing time. Near the end, Felipe Vizeu scored the winning goal.

This Wednesday (17), training will be held again in the morning, with activity released to the press. The group continues preparations for next Sunday's match. Flamengo will face the Grêmio team at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília, with the ball rolling from 11 am.
